Attorney Jeffrey Wetzel Speaks on Psychiatric Malpractice
Jeffrey J. Wetzel, a shareholder at Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. (DMC), will speak at the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society’s (PaPS) educational meeting entitled “Patient Safety and Risk Management.” He will participate as a panelist discussing psychiatric malpractice on November 5, 2016, at the Chubb Hotel & Conference Center in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The conference provides continuing medical education for PaPS members, who are physicians practicing psychiatry. Mr. Wetzel’s presentation will guide psychiatrists on how to implement a medicolegal risk management strategy by appropriately discussing the risk issues with patients/colleagues and implementing appropriate documentation strategies.
Mr. Wetzel has over a decade of experience in representing hospitals and health care providers, regularly advising clients on issues including regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance, and employment-related matters. He is a frequent speaker on medical malpractice defense and the intersection of psychiatry and the law.
Mr. Wetzel is Co-Chair of Dickie McCamey’s Health Law Business Group and a member of the firm’s Employment Committee. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, magna cum laude.
