Two Dickie McCamey Attorneys Named Among the Who’s Who in Energy

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote’s shareholders, Rodger L. Puz and Jesse J. Zirillo, have been named to the American City Business Journals’ “Who’s Who In Energy” 2017–18 list for the Pittsburgh market.

This year’s “Who’s Who in Energy” spans four markets — Denver, Houston, Pittsburgh, and San Antonio — and highlights roughly 600 business leaders impacting the energy industry, as part of its seventh edition.

According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, the honorees in its supplement, including professionals in accounting, finance, law, oil and gas, utilities, midstream, and education, earned recognition as “movers and shakers in the ever-changing, fast-paced energy industry” in western Pennsylvania.

An accomplished attorney serving the energy industry for 25 years, Mr. Puz, a former petroleum engineer, has been on the list consecutively since 2013. He has handled litigation in all aspects of energy law including commercial disputes, lease/landowner disputes, water contamination claims, and catastrophic personal injury and toxic tort disputes. Among Mr. Puz’s most notable engagements is a successful trial defense of a claim for $66 million in damages under an oil and gas joint operating agreement.

Mr. Zirillo represents energy clients in transactional matters. His understanding of the regulatory and financial contexts in which energy clients operate allows him to provide valuable guidance for keeping clients’ businesses moving forward. His most notable business accomplishments include:  $4 billion in joint venture assets including one of the largest JVs in the Appalachia Basin; $350 million in oil and gas asset acquisitions and divestitures; $200 million in asset and equity transactions; and due diligence and title projects for nearly 1 million acres of oil and gas properties.

Mr. Puz’s and Mr. Zirillo’s selection to the Pittsburgh Business Times’ energy leaders list is continued confirmation of Dickie McCamey as an authority in the Appalachia region’s energy sector.
