Ten New Shareholders Announced by Dickie McCamey

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., a leading national law firm based in Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce that 10 attorneys have been elected shareholders of the firm, effective January 1, 2018. Mark A. Fiorilli, Christopher A. Lovato, Jason L. Ott, Aaron M. Ponzo, John R. Seeds, Albert P. Veverka, Christopher J. Watson, and Dennis A. Watson all practice out of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office. Martin R. Jernigan works in the Raleigh, North Carolina, office and Stephanie N. Lawrence is based in the Lancaster, South Carolina office.

Mr. Fiorilli serves as Co-Chair of the Criminal Defense Group and Chair of the Military and Veterans Group. He concentrates his practice in criminal and civil defense, representing clients in both state and federal court. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, cum laude.

Mr. Jernigan concentrates his practice in civil law and medical malpractice, with particular emphases in workers’ compensation, general liability, and employment law. Mr. Jernigan obtained his J.D. at the University of North Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a four-year member of UNC Varsity Football.

Ms. Lawrence concentrates her practice in workers’ compensation, representing employers and their insurance providers in every aspect of their workers’ compensation claims from motions and hearings through settlement negotiations, full commission panels, and appeals. Ms. Lawrence earned her J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was ranked first among the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization, and served as captain of the National Moot Court Team.

Mr. Lovato is a member of the firm’s Commercial Law and Litigation Group, Real Estate Group, and Municipal Law Group. He represents a variety of business entities and municipalities, and he assists clients with contractual and litigation issues. Mr. Lovato is also a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee where he serves as Co-Chair of the “Protection From Abuse Act” project. He earned his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law, cum laude.

Mr. Ott concentrates his practice in corporate/commercial consultation and business services, bankruptcy/workout, corporate formation and transactional services, and business litigation. As a recipient of the Honorable Joseph H. Ridge Scholarship and a National Merit Scholar, Mr. Ott received full academic scholarships both to Barrett College, The Honors College at Arizona State University, and to Duquesne Law School. He received his J.D., cum laude, at Duquesne, where he received the Shalom Moot Court Award and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® in Gender and Law.

Mr. Ponzo’s practice includes the representation of Class I and Short Line railroads in Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), personal injury, and property damage claims. He is a member of the firm’s Railroad Law, Litigation and Regulatory Counsel Group. He is also a member of the firm’s Product Liability Group, where his practice includes the representation of consumer-product manufacturers in personal injury and commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. at Duquesne University School of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® in Advocacy and Adjudication and where he served as Production Editor of the Duquesne Law Review.

Mr. Seeds concentrates his practice in energy-related litigation and transactional matters for oil and natural gas upstream operations across the Appalachian Basin. Mr. Seeds began his legal career in the U.S. Marine Corps as an officer and judge advocate, defending service members charged with misdemeanor and felony-level offenses under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He earned his J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and served as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce.

Mr. Veverka concentrates his practice in criminal defense and medical malpractice. He also defends individuals and companies in general liability matters across Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Dickie McCamey, Mr. Veverka served as an assistant district attorney in Allegheny County. He received his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. At West Virginia, he was a member of the Order of the Barristers and the National Moot Court Team – Fourth Circuit, where he served as Associate Chief Justice of the Moot Court Board.

Mr. Christopher Watson concentrates his practice in health care law, medical malpractice defense, appellate practice, cyber insurance coverage, cybersecurity, insurance defense, and technology. He obtained his Juris Doctor at Duquesne University School of Law, magna cum laude, and was Executive Recent Decisions Editor of the Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees at Duquesne University, cum laude.

Mr. Dennis Watson concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, construction law, and insurance defense, with a particular emphasis in maritime law. Prior to joining Dickie McCamey, Mr. Watson was president and shareholder of the firm Grogan Graffam, P.C. He has also served as a Special Master in the Civil Division of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia and is AV-Preeminent® Peer-Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.
