Kelly Cullen Named Winner of David B. Fawcett Pro Bono Award

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. awarded its 11th annual David B. Fawcett Pro Bono honor to Kelly B. Cullen. The award is presented annually to the firm’s associate who has given their time to help those in need — a trademark of the award’s namesake, David B. Fawcett.

David Fawcett was dedicated to our lawyers’ efforts to provide free and meaningful legal services to indigent civil litigants including the working poor. Further, in honor of Mr. Fawcett’s many charitable efforts, Dickie McCamey acknowledges the many members of our staff that faithfully and generously contribute to supporting those in need.

“Kelly dedicated very significant time to our Best Interests Project, as well as the Neighborhood Legal Services’ Protection From Abuse Program,” said shareholder William D. Clifford. “Just as importantly, Kelly has carefully attended to his ‘day job’ with his work on firm matters.”

Mr. Cullen concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis in medical malpractice, and is also active on Dickie McCamey’s Pro Bono Committee.

“It is truly an unexpected honor, especially knowing how hard many of my colleagues work on both their ‘day jobs’ and as volunteers for the firm’s outstanding Pro Bono programs,” Cullen said. “I hope that in the coming years I can continue to contribute my small part to the firm’s commitment to the community and pro bono services.”

Prior to joining the firm as a lawyer, Mr. Cullen served as a law clerk at Dickie McCamey. While earning his Juris Doctor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, he clerked for Judge Mary Jane Bowes of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Criteria for the award includes recommendations from program coordinators and results achieved, while satisfying all of their other responsibilities in the firm.
