Dickie McCamey Joins Ford Motor Company’s Legal Alliance for Women in a Global Day of Service

Joining volunteers around the world, employees from Dickie McCamey participated in the inaugural Global Day of Service, a worldwide initiative spearheaded by Ford Motor Company’s Legal Alliance for Women (LAW), the company’s professional organization focused on women in the legal practice.

DMC volunteers have spent the last month collecting new and gently worn women’s interview and work-appropriate clothing, shoes, accessories, makeup and personal care items. The items were delivered yesterday to the Pittsburgh Chapter of Dress for Success. The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and tools needed thrive in work and in life.

“Dress for Success has so many amazing programs designed to help women feel confident, professional and empowered in the workplace,” said Maureen Barber. “We elected to host a clothing drive as a way to involve all members of our firm in our service efforts to support the mission of Dress for Success, and we’re extremely proud of the quantity and quality of the contributions we were able to deliver.”

The DMC “Ford Team” consists of Maureen K. Barber, Annabelle L. Carone, Daniel R. Gigler, Stephen M. Houghton, Nancy R. Winschel, Allison Mayer (paralegal), Karen Palochik (paralegal), Marianne McShane (secretary), and Bonnie Simpson (secretary).

The coordinated global effort will assist organizations supporting the empowerment and well-being of women and girls in their respective communities. Dickie McCamey was among more than 90 law firms around the world partnering with LAW to volunteer time and perform pro bono work on a day of community service.
