Shareholder Maureen Kowalski to Shape Future Leaders as Co-Chair of DMC’s Associates Committee
Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. has appointed Maureen Kowalski to co-chair the firm’s Associates Committee. In this role, Ms. Kowalski will continue her work in the development of Dickie McCamey’s associates, from new hires to laterals to those on the cusp of moving into the firm’s shareholder ranks. She will share this responsibility with Stephen M. Houghton who has co-chaired the committee for several years.
The Associates Committee ensures associates at all levels undergo a smooth transition into the practice of law and into the firm’s culture. The committee coordinates in-house CLEs and encourages associates to move into speaking/presenting roles; oversees the firm’s Preceptor Program making sure all associates benefit from a mentor outside of their day-to-day practice; ensures associates are assigned shareholders in their practice areas and are engaged in their chosen practice; and builds a camaraderie amongst associates throughout Dickie McCamey’s 17 offices, aiding in the retention and promotion of associates.
Ms. Kowalski has over two decades of legal experience. She earned her J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law and worked as a claims specialist for several insurance companies before joining Dickie McCamey. She has long championed the work of the Associates Committee, recognizing the value both in the firm’s support of the newest members of the legal profession and in shaping its future leaders.
