DMC Proudly Names Rebecca Maziarz Chair of the Firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. has appointed Shareholder Rebecca J. Maziarz as the chair of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Ms. Maziarz takes the reins of Dickie McCamey’s existing diversity initiatives, which foster the inclusion and promotion of attorneys and support staff regardless of gender, race, disability, veteran status, national origin, or sexual orientation. She will also work with the committee to develop and direct new efforts to ensure Dickie McCamey best reflects the diverse clients and communities which it serves.

Dickie McCamey has long promoted the equal and ethical hiring and promotion of attorneys and support staff from a broad variety of backgrounds. This is reflected both in the diversity of the firm’s Pittsburgh office, as well as across the firm’s additional offices, several of which are led by female and/or minority shareholders. The firm routinely sponsors and joins in minority hiring initiatives, including the Allegheny County Bar’s Minority Hiring Initiative and Summer Clerkship and Law Internship programs, and participates in diversity and inclusion events throughout its practice areas.

Ms. Maziarz’ dedication goes well beyond her law practice. She has volunteered and served on the board of directors of HEARTH, a nonprofit in Pittsburgh which helps women become self-sufficient, and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences teaching Health Care Law. Before joining Dickie McCamey, Ms. Maziarz worked in hospital information management. She received her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2001 and practices in civil litigation, focusing in medical malpractice and negligence litigation, among others. She practices in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
