Dennis Watson Re-Appointed to Review Commission
Dennis A. Watson, attorney and principal of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., has been re-appointed to the Independent Regulatory Review Commission (“IRRC”). Mr. Watson, who is an accomplished trial attorney, is one of five members of the Commission. He will serve a three-year term, which takes effect immediately. This is Mr. Watson’s second term, of which State Senate Democratic Leader Jay Costa says, “He will continue to be an asset to the Commission.”
The IRRC is an independent agency that was established in 1982. IRRC is tasked with the review of proposed and final regulations from Pennsylvania state agencies to ensure they are in the public interest and in conformity with criteria contained in the Regulatory Review Act. Such criteria include consistency with statutory law, the economic and fiscal impact of the regulation, and the reasonableness of the regulation.
Mr. Watson’s legal experience spans four decades with a focus in commercial, maritime, insurance coverage, and personal injury law. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia and earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, cum laude.
