Samuel Grego Honored with Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Excellence Award

Dickie McCamey’s Samuel R. Grego has been named as a recipient of the 2020 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Excellence Award by the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network.

Mr. Grego, a principal at DMC, is one of nine individuals or institutions honored by PLAN for their commitment to pro bono legal service.

“In addition to providing invaluable services and representation to individuals who typically cannot afford legal assistance, I find it fulfilling to observe the benefits such a relationship brings to the volunteer attorneys. It usually makes them better people, and therefore better lawyers,” said Mr. Grego. “I have been fortunate to work at a law firm whose leaders encourage those who want to explore the provision of pro bono services.”

The Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Excellence Awards recognize legal aid attorneys, paralegals, support staff, and friends of civil legal aid who support the clients served by the civil legal programs that comprise the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network.

PLAN solicited nominations from across the Commonwealth and based its selection on a variety of criteria that demonstrated excellence and diligence in helping improve the availability and quality of civil legal services for low income people and victims of domestic violence in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Grego, who joined DMC in 2004, earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition to chairing the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Group, he is the coordinator of the firm’s pro bono activities.
